Quick How To - No Web or Downloads Required

* Suggestion: When transferring content or recording sounds set your device's screen timeout setting to 'never'. This will help in preventing a flawed or interrupted transfer.

Have you tried to use a dual sided 2.5MM or 3.5MM cable, dependent of the headphone jack size on your device, you can connect directly from your device to your computer's sound card's 'Line In' / 'Microphone' jack. These cables are not very expensive, and can be found in many electronic stores.

A quick description on how to achieve this is described below.

  1. You would need a dual sided 2.5MM or 3.5MM male jack cable as mentioned earlier.
  2. Connect one end of the cable to your phone's headphone jack.
  3. Locate your sound card's 'Line In', or 'Microphone' Jack
    1. On desktop computers this would be the 'blue' opening.
    2. If you are using the 'Microphone' jack on your desktop this would be the (depending) 'pink' or 'red' jack.
    3. Connect the other end of the cable to the selected jack.
  4. Open a sound editor: If using a 'PC'
    1. Click 'Start'
    2. In the search box type: Sound Recorder, or consider using Audacity as an alternative to 'Sound Recorder'.
  5. Start 'Asa Sound Rec' within your device, and go to your 'saved' sounds folder.
  6. Locate your recorded sound file to save to your computer.
  7. When ready use the 'Sound Recorder', or desktop program(s) 'Record' button to begin the capture.
    1. Immediately click the play button within 'Asa Sound Rec' for the file that you wish to transfer.
    2. At this point you should be able to listen to your recording playback, while it is being recorded to your machine.
